Upgrade to the Incredible 2025 Jeep Wrangler

From the moment it first hit the road, the Wrangler was already a legend in the auto industry. It was built on the legacy of the original Jeep, which was developed to help the Allies in World War II. Since then, this SUV has only grown its legendary status and become the standard by which all other off-road vehicles are judged.

Whether you're already looking for a Jeep Wrangler for sale in Rhinebeck or you've just started checking out what it has to offer, we're here to help you with everything you need. You have a lot of options available to you when figuring out which 2025 Wrangler is right for you, so we're going to help guide you through these major decisions and figure out everything that you should look for in your next vehicle.

First, Consider Your Configuration Options

Two major configuration options are worth considering when you first start checking out the 2025 Wrangler: the overall size and the roof. In terms of size, you have two options: either a two-door Wrangler or a model with four doors. Both offer two rows of seating inside, but the four-door model is larger overall: about 188 inches long compared to the 167-inch length of the two-door version. This can make the two-door model easier to maneuver in tight spots, but the four-door model can be a better choice for a spacious commuter SUV to drive around Rhinebeck.

Although every 2025 Jeep Wrangler has a removable top, you have two main options here: either a soft top or a hard top. Some models will have a Black Sunrider soft top as the standard option, with a Black Freedom Top three-piece modular hardtop available if you prefer. This largely comes down to what you like more than anything else; there's no wrong answer here. We'll see different options on the various trims available in a moment, however, so it can help to have this in mind before going forward.

Second, Decide Which Engine Is Right for You

Jeep offers two different gas engines for the 2025 Wrangler, with both available on quite a few of the trim levels, so it's a good idea to figure out which one is right for you. There's also a 6.4L HEMI V8 for the Rubicon 392, but that's a very niche option that most drivers won't choose, and a plug-in hybrid powertrain if you're interested in any of the Wrangler 4xe variants. The standard gas engine, however, is a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that provides 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. You can get this engine with either an eight-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual, which is worth keeping in mind when choosing your Wrangler.

If you're looking for enhanced performance, there's a 2.0L turbocharged engine available that delivers 270 hp and an impressive 295 lb-ft of torque. This one's only offered with the eight-speed automatic; remember that all Jeep Wranglers come with four-wheel drive (4x4), although you can get different 4x4 systems depending on which trim you choose. With its standard V6 engine or the turbocharged engine, it can manage 5,000 lbs of towing; the other two can only handle 3,500 lbs of towing. Keep that in mind when considering these engines, and make sure you choose a Wrangler that meets your needs.

Third, Choose a Trim That Has What You Want

Once you've decided on the kind of performance and body you want with your 2025 Wrangler, then you need to pick the right trim. Jeep offers numerous impressive trims, and the features between them can be quite different. Here's a quick overview of each trim level (save for the intense, enthusiast-tailored Rubicon X trim and Rubicon 392 variant) and some highlights to give you a sense of what's on offer:

  • Sport: This is the base Wrangler trim, and it has a 3.6L engine, a Command-Trac 4x4 system, Dana solid front and rear axle, skid plates to protect the fuel tank and transfer case, halogen headlamps, 17-inch wheels with all-season tires, and a Black Sunrider soft top. Inside, the Sport has cloth seating, air conditioning, a 3.5-inch monotone driver display, a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system, and eight speakers.
  • Sport S: Moving up to this trim gets you a number of upgrades, including automatic headlamps and remote keyless entry. It has advanced safety features like Enhanced Adaptive Cruise Control and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus to protect you on the road. This trim also has a premium-wrapped steering wheel and power, heated mirrors. Available options include Remote Start, a heated steering wheel, and a 7-inch color driver display.
  • Willys: This trim has a number of exterior upgrades, including a Class II hitch receiver along with a 4- and 7-pin wiring harness for towing. You get LED fog lamps on the Willys, LED premium reflector headlamps, and LED accents for the daytime running lights. More upgrades include off-road tires, heavy-duty Dana 44 axles, and a distinct Willys suspension. Available tech features are similar to the Sport S, plus you can get the Xtreme 35-inch Tire Package here.
  • Sahara: One of the best options available, this trim has the towing upgrades of the Willys trim along with Falken Off-Road tires and the Willys suspension. The available Technology Group upgrade adds an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Alpine premium sound system, and Navigation for the Uconnect 5 system.
  • Rubicon: This is the pinnacle trim for the Wrangler and the perfect choice for conquering the most challenging trails. It comes with a 3.6L V6 engine, a Rock-Trac 4x4 system, heavy-duty Dana 44 axles, and a performance suspension system. You get 17-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch Off-Road tires, along with high-clearance front fender flares. Inside is exclusive Black seating with the Rubicon logo and Rubicon Red stitching. The Rubicon has a huge selection of options available, including the Xtreme Tire Package and an exclusive X Package that adds steel front and rear bumpers, full-time four-wheel drive, and more.

As you can see, there are some notable differences between these trim levels. Although the Sport has a lot of great features, we find the options and enhancements of the Sport S are more attractive to our Rhinebeck customers. The Willys gives you upgraded performance with its heavy-duty axles and suspension, while the Sahara offers comfort and tech features beyond the previous trims. If you need the most rugged and capable version of the Wrangler to tackle some serious camping and off-road journeys, then the incredible Rubicon is the way to go.

Finally, Explore Extra Options and Features

You might've noticed that we mentioned numerous packages and options for the trim levels we looked at, all of which are worth keeping in mind. You can get massive 35-inch tires from the Xtreme Tire Package on several trims, while the available Technology Group for select trims adds better sound systems and even an off-road camera. It's also worth taking a moment to look at the exterior colors available; while options like Bright White, Black, and Granite Crystal always look great, you can stand apart with some truly distinct looks. Fathom Blue, Firecracker Red, and Mojito are just some of the gorgeous options to consider.
