When you go shopping for an SUV, you deserve to have the freedom to get everything you want without skipping a single thing. Jeep understands this well, which is why they offer some of the most refined options on the road, along with incredibly rugged models ready to go far beyond where the road ends.
Whether you're already looking for a Jeep Grand Cherokee for sale in Rhinebeck or you're just curious about what the 2025 Grand Cherokee has to offer, you've chosen a great SUV to learn more about. This is a powerful and sophisticated midsize SUV designed to enhance every moment you spend behind the wheel. Even when you compare it to other popular SUVs out there, like the 2025 Ford Explorer, it is clear that Jeep has gone above and beyond to create something remarkable and distinct.
Power, Performance, and Capabilities
When you're looking at midsize SUVs, you're probably not interested in sports-car levels of performance, but you still deserve to get something that's fun to drive. Jeep understands this well and you can see it with the 2025 Grand Cherokee and everything it has to offer. For starters, there's a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that delivers 293 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, and it's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This is plenty of power to ensure you have a great time on the road each day; plus, you can choose between standard rear-wheel drive (RWD) and available four-wheel drive (4WD) to provide you with fantastic traction and control.
Looking at the 2025 Ford Explorer as a comparison, it has quite an impressive standard engine: a turbocharged I-4 that provides 300 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. This comes with RWD standard, like the Grand Cherokee, but all-wheel drive (AWD) is available rather than Jeep's 4WD. There's nothing particularly wrong with AWD, but when you're dealing with rough winter weather in Rhinebeck or heading up to the Adirondacks to do some camping, the enhanced traction of 4WD is a better option. Even more noteworthy are the available engines for these two SUVs: the turbocharged V6 that Ford offers with 415 lb-ft of torque is nice, but Jeep goes further to give you more.
The Grand Cherokee's 4xe variant is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of this impressive SUV. It uses both a gas engine and a battery-powered motor for enhanced performance: 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. You can see that this is far more torque than what Ford offers and a lot more horsepower than the Explorer's standard engine. Most impressive of all, however, is that the Grand Cherokee 4xe gets about 56 miles of all-electric driving range, which lets you run errands and make numerous short trips without ever touching the gas tank; then, you can recharge at home overnight. You won't find a hybrid option for the Explorer.
Interior Freedom to Get What You Want
Your options to get what you're looking for go well beyond the powertrain; you also have some incredible freedom when it comes to the layout of your vehicle with the Grand Cherokee. For reference, let's take a look at the 2025 Ford Explorer because it's a great place to start and shows the kinds of design ideas you find with a lot of other brands.
The Explorer is a three-row SUV, which means it has seating for up to seven people across three rows, but it's not quite as large as a full-size model. It's got a little over 16 cu.ft. of rear cargo space and just over 85 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front seats. That makes it a good option for growing families looking for something a bit larger, but drivers looking for something smaller need to go with a completely different model.
With the Grand Cherokee, Jeep gives you two fantastic models to choose from, which lets you get what you're looking for. The Grand Cherokee is a midsize SUV with two rows of seating, making it ideal for a wide range of Rhinebeck drivers and families. You get seating for up to five passengers, along with more than 37 cu.ft. of rear cargo space and just over 70 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front seats. It's a spacious and beautifully laid out option that is perfect for many drivers; if you're looking for something with more seating, then Jeep has you covered...
The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is a longer version of this model with three rows of seating along the same lines as the Ford Explorer. You get the same terrific interior features here as the Grand Cherokee, so you're not restarting with a different model and exploring different possibilities by checking it out. The Grand Cherokee L seats seven passengers, and you get more than 17 cu.ft. of rear cargo volume and nearly 85 cu.ft. of total cargo space behind the front row. Letting you choose between all of these options means that Jeep gives you the freedom to get what you need without missing out on anything.
Interior Features That Take You Further
Jeep had once prioritized unbeatable capabilities and ruggedness over comfort and luxury. With the 2025 Grand Cherokee, however, we can see that things have changed, and the result is one of the most incredibly refined SUVs on the road. The standard 8.4-inch infotainment display is very nice, though we prefer the available 10.1-inch screen, which is easier to use and puts all sorts of apps and features at your fingertips.
Taking things to the next level, there's an available 10.25-inch front-passenger screen that your copilot can use to control entertainment systems and even find directions and send them right to your driver's display. The final touch is the absolutely stunning 17-speaker McIntosh premium sound system with a 950-watt amp and a 10-inch subwoofer designed to fill your cabin with incredible audio.
By comparison, the 2025 Ford Explorer does have one advantage: a 13.2-inch infotainment display that's slightly larger than what Jeep offers—but that's it. There's no copilot display for the Explorer to give your front passenger added controls and functionality while you drive. The available 10-speaker B&O sound system is good, and there's even a 14-speaker sound setup offered at the highest levels for the Explorer, but that still falls short of the stunning audio that Jeep offers in the Grand Cherokee.
Added features like ambient lighting and a wireless charging pad in the Explorer are nice, but Jeep offers those, too, along with exclusive tech like an available in-cabin camera system and incredibly comfortable 16-way seats with a massaging mode.
Rhinebeck Drivers Deserve the Best in SUVs
As you can see, Jeep has reinvigorated the modern Grand Cherokee with a new focus on luxury, comfort, and innovation beyond what we've seen in the past. We love this approach for the Grand Cherokee as it creates an SUV with plenty of options available so you can get everything you're looking for.
