Five Ways the Wrangler Surpasses the Ford Bronco

Jeep began making a name for itself with its original vehicle that helped the Allies claim victory in World War II, and its legacy has been growing ever since. The Wrangler is the modern inheritor of that legend, providing you with a remarkable SUV that can go anywhere and handle anything you put in front of it. This is just part of the reason we're so proud to offer the Jeep Wrangler for sale in Rhinebeck because we love getting the chance to share its iconic performance and incredible capabilities with our customers.

If you've heard of the Ford Bronco's recent revival, then you've likely seen people talk about what an impressive off-road machine it is. While we certainly find the Bronco's capabilities to be notable, we want to point out numerous ways that the 2025 Jeep Wrangler gives you more for heading off-road.

#1 - Diverse Engine Options

There are a lot of different specs and features to consider for going off-road, but we think the powertrain is the perfect place to start. When you're dealing with rough terrain or climbing over rocks, the last thing you want is a weak engine that lets you down.

Jeep gives you four different engine options for the 2025 Wrangler, including that of the incredible Rubicon 392 variant (which is sadly on its way out); by comparison, Ford offers just three engines for the Bronco, and that's including the high-performance Raptor variant. We generally feel like more options are better since it makes it easier to get whatever you're looking for, so we love this from Jeep. Not only do you have more options, however, but they're notably more interesting and create remarkable options for your driving needs.

Standard performance is pretty similar with these two models: the Wrangler has a 285-hp 3.6L V6 engine, whereas the Bronco has a 300-hp 2.3L I-4 engine. Jeep also offers a turbocharged I-4 for the Wrangler, and then there's the incredible 6.4L HEMI V8 engine found in the Wrangler Rubicon 392, which delivers 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.

The Bronco Raptor variant has an impressive V6 engine with 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque, but it falls short of Jeep's power. Most impressive, however, are the Wrangler 4xe trims and their plug-in hybrid engine, which delivers 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque (perfect for challenging trails) while giving you a limited all-electric range. This is a stunning assortment of powertrains designed to let you go wherever you want and ensure you have a great time along the way.

#2 - Exceptional Mobility Specs

Beyond an impressive powertrain, what you're looking for in an off-road machine is something designed to handle whatever the trail throws at you. Jeep understands this better than just about anyone since it's what its legacy is built upon—and the Wrangler illustrates this perfectly.

When you're ready to tackle a serious challenge, you can count on its best-in-class approach angle (for four-door models) to get the job done. This is also great when you're dealing with a big speed bump or steep road when driving around Rhinebeck. The massive 33-inch all-terrain tires available for the Wrangler contribute to fantastic ground clearance, while numerous four-wheel drive (4x4) systems are available to provide unparalleled control on the road.

In fairness to the Bronco, it certainly has some impressive specs of its own, but it can't quite keep up with what Jeep provides. This is not surprising since the Wrangler was clearly at the forefront in the minds of Ford's designers and engineers when working on the Bronco and they wanted to build something that could try to compete with Jeep's iconic off-road beast. A high ground clearance, high water fording abilities, and respectable approach and departure angles ensure the Bronco can handle a wide range of tasks. Looking at overall specs, however, we still prefer the Wrangler and everything it brings to the road and trail.

#3 - Best-in-Class Towing Clout

Everyone has their idea of what off-roading is all about; for many, it's about hitting the trail, having an adventure, and then going home. For others, however, going off-road is only part of a great outdoor adventure that often includes camping, fishing, hiking, boating, or overlanding for weeks at a time. That's when things like impressive towing capacity come in handy since it gives you greater functionality from your SUV. This can also be useful for taking care of other tasks around Rhinebeck, like loading up a trailer with supplies for a weekend gardening project.

The 2025 Ford Bronco gets 3,500 lbs of towing capacity with its standard engine; the available turbocharged V6 has the same tow rating. Only the Bronco Raptor variant can surpass that with 4,500 lbs of towing; that's a high-end model and an extreme cost for good towing. With the Jeep Wrangler, you get 5,000 lbs of towing capacity with its standard engine. That's right: you can pick the starting Wrangler trim and get more towing clout than someone who paid nearly three times as much for the Bronco Raptor. This gives you all the muscle you need for hauling a boat or camper with you before dropping them off and hitting the trail.

#4 - Fantastic Interior Features

Whether you're running errands around Rhinebeck or heading to your favorite campsite, you should have a vehicle you enjoy driving. A comfortable interior is a big part of that, and the Jeep Wrangler is nicer inside than it's ever been; this had been a fair criticism of the Wrangler in the past, but no more.

For example, available 12-way power front seats that are heated keep you incredibly comfortable on cold winter mornings or when heading off-road up in the mountains. Best-in-class rear legroom on four-door models is also ideal if you plan on having adults ride along with you. The available 10-way power seating in the Ford Bronco is nice but not quite as refined as the overall experience you can get in the Wrangler these days.

#5 - Remarkable Technology

Interior tech features could also be considered lacking in some previous Wrangler iterations, but Jeep has heard these criticisms and now delivers incredible technology in this vehicle. For starters, you have a largest-in-its-class 12.3-inch center display that looks absolutely stunning. The available 7-inch Digital Cluster Display looks right at home behind the steering wheel, providing you with important information without taking over the dashboard.

The 12-inch infotainment display inside the Ford Bronco is pretty close to what Jeep offers, and the Bronco has a number of nice tech features available inside, but we prefer how Jeep has set things up and created a vehicle that's perfect for the trail while also functioning quite nicely as a daily driver.
